Intel – Intel has introduced a new program which will help users to extract insights and patterns about Wi-Fi network traffic, performance and operations.
Program is called the Intel Connectivity Analytics. It will offers a software development kit (SDK) to deliver deep insights about wireless traffic transmitted by Intel-based Wi-Fi 6 chipsets. The aim of the program is to provide network-level telemetry directly from the source to improve the overall wireless experience for users. It offers capabilities such as network performance optimization, security threat detection, and issue resolution.
This program is partner-led, and collaborative effort with initial participating vendors being Wyebot and Ambeent.
Eric McLaughlin, General Manager of the wireless solution group at Intel said during a briefing with press, researchers and analysts that this program turns every PC into a sensor, providing real-time data on Wi-Fi performance and operations.
He said the Intel Connectivity Analytics will look at the Wi-Fi client and can provide information on running applications, time spent on them, and network traffic. Intel has taken steps to ensure user privacy, and end-users will need to opt-in to participate in the program.
How it Started?
The foundational software for Intel Connectivity Analytics was created by Rivet Networks, a startup that was spun out of Qualcomm and focused on improving the network experience for gaming.
In 2016, Intel formed a partnership with Rivet Networks. Intel later acquired the startup in May 2020, with the aim of expanding the capabilities of the technology. Since then, Intel has been working on enhancing and expanding the capabilities of the technology, which has led to the launch of the Intel Connectivity Analytics program.

Wyebot, a company that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize Wi-Fi networks, is set to receive a major boost from Intel’s Connectivity Analytics program. The program provides data from Intel hardware that will feed into Wyebot’s cloud analysis engine, allowing the company to obtain more information from sensors and further enhance its optimization capabilities. This development is expected to significantly improve end-user experience by providing networking system insights from Intel and using them to optimize Wi-Fi networks.
According to Wyebot CEO, Roger Sands, the addition of data from Intel is like having micro-sensors everywhere to help optimize Wi-Fi networks globally.
Similarly, Mustafa Ergen, founder and president of Ambeent, a company that provides Wi-Fi network monitoring, is also optimistic about the capabilities of the Intel Connectivity Analytics program. Ergen believes that the program will enable a better understanding of the wireless medium, which will ultimately help improve end-user experience.
