India sees rise in Cybersecurity Jobs – In today’s world, everything is connected globally. Notably, Indian organizations encountered over 2,000 attacks per week during the first quarter of 2023, marking an 18 percent surge from the previous year. The healthcare sector, in particular, bore the brunt of these attacks, accounting for 7.7 percent of the total.
Sunil Chemmankotil, the CEO of TeamLease Digital, emphasized the pressing need for proactive measures to combat cyber threats in India’s evolving digital infrastructure. He stressed the importance of comprehensive strategies to safeguard against malicious software attacks, social engineering tactics, and other sophisticated cyber threats. Furthermore, Chemmankotil emphasized the urgency of upskilling the workforce and recruiting qualified professionals to bridge the prevailing skill gap.

The research highlights the significance of enhancing the workforce’s cybersecurity skills with a diverse set of abilities. There is a growing need for expertise in specialized areas like data privacy, cloud security, AI security, and network security.

Cybersecurity Top Jobsand Salary
The study identifies several prominent job roles within the field, such as IT auditor, Information Security analyst, Network/IT Security Engineer/Specialist, Security Testing/Penetration Tester, and Computer Forensics analyst. For those starting out in these positions, entry-level salaries typically range from 3 to 6 lakhs per annum. However, as professionals gain more experience and reach senior or mid-level positions with over 12 years of expertise, their annual earnings can substantially increase, ranging between 50-80 Lakhs.
