March 20, 2023, News Stories – Disney plans layoffs of 4,000 more employees

Tough times doesn’t seems to end soon. As per sources, Disney is planning another round of layoffs and this might impact around 4,000 employees. Last month only, Disney has fired 7,000 employees to cut costs amidst a ‘challenging economic environment’. Many other Tech Giants such as Meta, Twitter, Google, Amazon, Wipro have been following same path because of rough economic conditions.

  • Twitter started charging for text-message two-factor authentication (2FA)

From today onwards, users who want to continue using Twitter’s text-message two-factor authentication (2FA), will need to be subscribed to Twitter’s monthly subscription. It costs at $8 or €8. There are chances of users fallout as this might discourage many to subscribe for this one. It may put accounts at risk as well.

It was announced last month, and is implemented now.

  • World’s First Quantum Computer For Health Care Installed

IBM with Cleveland Clinic (Academic Medical Center) today installed the first Quantum Computer – IBM Quantum System One. This would be the first only that is dedicated specifically to Health Care Research.

The quantum computer is unveiled by Cleveland Clinic in the Lerner Research Institute on its main campus in Cleveland (United States), in the presence of the director of quantum infrastructure research at IBM, Jerry Chow. It can be deployed in multiple environments.
