  • Finally Open Source Wireshark Gets its Own Foundation

Open Source Wireshark Network Protocol Analyzer has been helping networking professionals for the last two decades and now, the technology is finally getting its own open source foundation. From the beginning, it was available as open source.

It was started back in 1998, originally known as Ethereal and was re-branded in 2006. The company was acquired by Riverbed in 2010. In 2021, it moved to Sysdig, which has been the lead sponsor from the last several years. And finally now, the project has moved to the new Wireshark Foundation, which is a nonprofit open source organization. Its aim is to help grow the technology, expand contributions, and support further usage.

Meta Platforms Inc is creating a new top-level product group focused on Generative Artificial Intelligence, according to Mark Zuckerberg.

Meta is starting by pulling together many teams working on generative AI across the company into one group focused on building amazing experiences around this technology.

  • Chipmaker Nvidia expands its AI ambitions to the cloud

American multinational technology company, Nvidia Corporation is working on a “Newer Business Model” of selling AI services directly to large companies, organisations and governments. Although because of this, it may have to face collision with the big tech companies that are its largest customers.
This significant step comes as some of the leading tech companies are designing and might build chips to handle the huge data-crunching demands of AI, reducing their dependency on the Nvidia’s chips in the longer run. Nvidia says it will soon generate good amount of revenue, opening up a new software business to add to its existing chip sales.

  • RateGain Travel Shares up by 4% after new collaboration

RateGain Travel Technologies,  the global provider of SaaS solutions for travel and hospitality shares rallied 4.3 per cent to Rs 359 per share in Thursday’s intra-day trade after the company announced pact with HotelKey – a cloud-based property management for hotels.
Through this partnership, HotelKey platform hotels will see RateGain’s pricing and distribution tools on the HotelKey platform. This will enable hoteliers staff and management to reduce cost, save time and achieve efficiencies. It will help in making better distribution driven decisions faster and, ultimately, saving money as well as building revenue and increase ROI,” the management said.
